Scan tickets at the door
The Tixi Ticket scanner validates each ticket against the event and records admission in real time. A reliable internet connection is required because the app does not use an offline attendee list.
Start scanning
Sign in to the scanner app with a member account from the event's organisation. Select the event and allow camera access when prompted.
Only published events that are currently ongoing can be opened for scanning. A scheduled event remains visible for reference but becomes available when its recorded start time is reached. Draft, ended, and cancelled events cannot be opened in the scanner.
Point the camera at the ticket QR code and keep the full code within the scanning area. The app submits one scan at a time and briefly pauses before accepting another camera reading of the same code.
Understand the result
- Admitted means the ticket is valid and has been checked in. The holder name and ticket type are shown.
- Already scanned means the ticket was admitted previously. The original check-in time is displayed.
- Refunded ticket or Void ticket means the admission record is no longer valid.
- Ticket for a different event means the code belongs to another event available to the organisation.
- Unknown ticket code means the code cannot be matched to an accessible ticket.
- Not a ticket code means the QR content is not a valid Tixi Ticket code.
- Scan failed means the server request did not complete. Check connectivity and try again.
The scanner also reports temporary rate limits. Do not admit a ticket on the basis of a failed request; obtain a conclusive result or follow the organiser's documented exception procedure.
Use multiple devices
Several team members can scan the same event at once. The backend records every successful admission before returning the result. If the same ticket reaches two devices, the first completed admission succeeds and later attempts return Already scanned.
The footer shows the event's checked-in total and the number admitted during the current device session. If the camera cannot read a damaged display or printed code, select Enter code manually and enter the 12-character ticket code. Manual entry uses the same live validation as a QR scan.
