Set up scanning devices
Prepare every scanning device before doors open so entry staff can begin without changing organisation or account settings on site.
Prepare team access
Each operator should use an individual Tixi Ticket team account. Organisation Admins can invite users under Settings → Organisation → Members in the web dashboard.
The scanner supports email and password sign-in as well as connected Google and Apple accounts. Memberships, passwords, and connected sign-in methods are managed in the web dashboard rather than in the scanner. Every active organisation member can scan; there is no separate door-staff role or shared door password.
Confirm before event day that each operator can sign in, activate the correct organisation, and see the event in the event list.
Prepare each device
On every phone:
- Install and open the Tixi Ticket scanner app.
- Sign in with the operator's account.
- Grant camera access when requested.
- Confirm that the event appears in the list.
- Verify reliable venue Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- Charge the device and arrange a power source for extended entry periods.
Only published events within their recorded start and end times can be opened. Scheduled events are visible in advance but cannot be scanned until they become ongoing.
Review the entry controls
The scanning screen includes a torch for low-light entrances and Enter code manually for damaged prints or camera problems. Manual entry accepts the 12-character code printed with the ticket and uses the same server-side validation as a QR scan.
The footer shows the total number checked in for the event and the number admitted during the current app session. These figures update from live event data.
Operate reliably
Assign one device to each staffed entry lane and keep every device connected throughout admission. Multiple devices can scan the same event safely, but there is no offline admission mode. If a request fails, do not treat the ticket as admitted; restore connectivity and scan or enter the code again.
Keep each operator signed in with their own account. This avoids shared credentials and allows a former member's access to be removed without changing access for the rest of the entry team.
