Ticket types and pricing

Updated

Ticket types define the options available for a Regular event. Seated events use the pricing and availability configured through their venue layout instead of the Ticket types tab.

Configure the required information

Each ticket type requires a clear name, a price in the event currency, and a total inventory. A price of zero creates a free ticket. Paid ticket types must be priced between 1.00 and 1,000.00 in the event currency.

Use names and descriptions that let buyers understand the admission product without additional explanation. Ticket-type wording may distinguish an admission period, audience category, access level, or included service, but it should accurately describe what the buyer receives.

Add purchasing and presentation controls

Optional settings include:

  • Per-order limit controls how many tickets of that type one order can contain. The configured value must be between 1 and 50 and cannot exceed the ticket type's inventory.
  • Sales window opens and closes the ticket automatically at the configured times in the organisation's time zone.
  • Description provides relevant customer-facing detail.
  • Perks list specific inclusions. A ticket type can contain up to ten concise perks.
  • Badge adds a short label, such as an early-booking designation.
  • Icon and accent help buyers distinguish options visually.

The display order determines how ticket types appear during checkout. Put the most important comparison information in the name, price, and first lines of the description rather than relying only on colour or a badge.

Manage inventory and availability

Completed sales reduce remaining inventory, while active checkout reservations temporarily hold it. Total inventory cannot be reduced below the number already sold and currently held. Increasing inventory can make a sold-out ticket available again when its sales window is open and the event remains available for sale.

A ticket type that is opening later, sold out, or past its sales end may remain visible with the relevant status. This allows buyers to understand that the option exists without offering unavailable inventory.

Maintain existing ticket types

Prices, inventory, and supported presentation details remain editable after publication, but changes apply to future purchases. Existing orders keep their recorded transaction and ticket information.

A ticket type cannot be deleted once it is referenced by sold, held, refunded, order, or pending Guestlist data. When deletion is unavailable, preserve the record and adjust future availability through its sales window or inventory controls.
