How the checkout works

Updated

Checkout coordinates ticket availability, buyer information, payment, and ticket delivery. Understanding each stage helps distinguish an incomplete attempt from a confirmed order.

Reserve the selection

When a buyer proceeds with selected inventory, checkout places an eight-minute reservation on it. The hold prevents the same ticket quantity, seat, table, or other bookable object from being sold to another buyer while checkout is in progress.

A reservation is not a completed order. If the buyer leaves checkout or the timer expires, the hold is released automatically and the inventory becomes available again. A buyer may need to make a new selection after an expired reservation.

Review the total

Before confirmation, checkout presents the selected inventory, ticket subtotal, applicable discount, service fee, and final total. A valid coupon is reflected before the buyer proceeds. Buyer and attendee details are collected as required for the order and ticket records.

Paid orders are processed through Stripe. The payment provider collects card details and performs any required authentication; Tixi Ticket stores payment references and order data but does not store full card numbers.

An order with a zero total completes without a Stripe payment. In either case, confirmation and ticket issuance occur only after the platform successfully completes the appropriate paid or free settlement process. A payment attempt or temporary card authorisation alone is not proof that an order was created.

Receive the tickets

After completion, the confirmation page displays the order information and the email address used at checkout. Ticket delivery is then queued. The email subject is Your tickets for [event name], and its PDF attachment contains one ticket per page with a unique QR code.

Eligible Regular or individual-seat tickets may also include Apple Wallet or Google Wallet links when wallet services are configured. Table and area admission formats may remain PDF-only.

If delivery is delayed, ask the buyer to allow a few minutes and check spam, junk, and promotions folders. See Find your tickets for a complete recovery checklist and Scan tickets at the door for admission behavior.
